Scholarship Benefits
Provided certain criteria are met, students from South Asia, Africa, and Southeast Asia can receive a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship worth £2,000. This amount will be deducted from their first-year tuition fees.
This £2,000 scholarship is separate from our existing Full Payment Discount. Under this separate program, students who pay their annual tuition in full before enrollment receive a £1,000 reduction.
So in addition to the potential £1,000 discount for upfront tuition payment, eligible students from the specified regions can also earn a £2,000 Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship to further offset their first-year costs.
Eligibility
To qualify, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be domiciled in South Asia, Africa, or Southeast Asia, and pay international tuition fees
- Self-fund their tuition costs
- Enroll in a full-time taught postgraduate or undergraduate program at a UK campus
- Begin their studies in September 2024 or January 2025
- Be new to the University of Derby
Individuals awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship will not be eligible for the International Alumni Discount or any other university financial awards, apart from the Full Payment Discount.
The eligibility criteria ensure the scholarship supports international students from specific regions who are self-financing their education and new to the university.
How to apply
The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship is automatically applied. This award will be subtracted from the remaining tuition balance, which students should pay according to the university’s guidance.
Additional Information
To be eligible, you must be applying for a full-time degree program. Applications for postgraduate research, online studies, foundation courses, and pre-sessional language programs do not qualify for these discounts or scholarships.
