Scholarship Benefits

The monthly stipend is up to S$6,700. There is an annual conference allowance of up to S$4,000 (from April of the previous year to March of the current year). Recipients also receive an annual book grant of S$500. A one-time IT allowance of S$1,500 is provided. Additionally, a one-time thesis allowance of S$600 will be disbursed during the final year of the scholarship renewal.

This award also covers the yearly tuition fees. Priority will be given for subsidized on-campus housing.

There are no strings attached to the scholarship award. The grant is valid for one year initially and may be renewed subject to satisfactory progress. The maximum duration of the scholarship is 4 years for PhD students, as determined by the school and the availability of research funding in each case.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to applicants of any nationality. However, priority will be given to Singapore citizens and permanent residents.

Candidates must hold an Honours degree (Highest Distinction) or equivalent at the bachelor’s level. If you have not yet completed your undergraduate studies, you will need to provide documentation from your university confirming you are on track to earn an Honours (Highest Distinction) degree or its equivalent.

How to apply

Applications for the academic year 2025-2026 (starting in August 2025 and January 2026) will be accepted from October 1 to December 31, 2024.
