Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship can be worth up to €31,000 per year and includes:

  • A stipend of €22,000 annually.
  • A contribution to fees, including non-EU fees, up to €5,750 per year.
  • Eligible direct research expenses of €3,250 annually.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship, interested individuals should be aware of the following:

  • There is no age restriction for those seeking to apply for either programme type.
  • All applicants must be connected to or accepted by an eligible Irish university or research organization.
  • Applications will only be reviewed if submitted in either Irish or English.
  • Applicants cannot have had two prior unsuccessful attempts at the relevant programme, including any strategic partner themes. This rule applies even if the applicant has changed their host institution or research focus since a previous submission.
