Scholarship Benefits
- The Axel Adler Scholarship encompasses the entire program’s tuition expenses for admitted students. This translates to 4 semesters or 120 credits for Master’s programs, with the only exception being the Investigative Journalism master’s program, which requires 2 semesters or 60 credits.
- For Bachelor programs, it extends to 6 semesters or 180 credits. However, it’s important to note that the Axel Adler Scholarship does not include provisions for living and housing costs.
- Recipients of the scholarship benefit from FAS+, an insurance provided under the jurisdiction of the Swedish Legal, Financial, and Administrative Service Agency (Kammarkollegiet). For full information on terms and conditions, please visit the Kammarkollegiet website.
Applicants who have chosen the University of Gothenburg as their primary choice through universityadmissions.se and meet the specified criteria can expect an email containing application instructions on approximately February 8, 2024. The invitation to apply for the Axel Adler Scholarship will be sent only to the email address registered on universityadmissions.se.

Eligibility
Based on applicant’s qualifications to the study program in question.
Basis for Award: Academic staff assessment of the applicant’s qualification based on Motivation letter and CV contained in the scholarship submission and the applicable study program.
How to apply
- Tuition fees must be made in Sweden.
- As a prerequisite, apply for an international campus-based program at the University of Gothenburg, designating it as your top priority.
- Admission eligibility is contingent upon acceptance into a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s program at the University of Gothenburg. For Bachelor Program, this is applicable only to International Relations, Software Engineering, and Business and Economics.

- Ensure that the scholarship program you are interested in is your first choice at the University of Gothenburg within the international admission round at www.universityadmission.se.
Step 2:
- Ensure submission of your study application by January 15, 2024.
Step 3:
- Pay the application fee.
Step 4:
- Validate your eligibility for studies by February 1, 2024, through universityadmissions.se

Additional Information
Before Accepting an Offer:
- Please note that you are required to include a Letter of Motivation and a CV together you’re your application. These are used mainly for selection purposes.
- In order to retain your scholarship, you must maintain a minimum of 75% of the semester’s credit requirements. Periodic follow-ups are usually carried out.
- It’s imperative to note that failure to commence studies on schedule or to adhere to the University of Gothenburg’s guidelines and regulations for academic pursuits will result in the revocation of the scholarship.
