Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship provides up to $48,000 total, which equates to up to $12,000 per year. It can be renewed for up to three additional years.

Eligibility

The Jesse W. Fell Scholarship is our most distinguished award for incoming first-year students. Freshmen who qualify for the Fell Scholarship and submit their application by our priority deadline of November 1 will be invited to apply for this award via email.

  • To be eligible, applicants must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Finalists will be required to participate in an interview.
  • Award recipients are notified in early spring.
  • The Jesse W. Fell Scholarship can be renewed for up to three more years. To maintain your award, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Continuous enrollment in at least 12 credit hours per semester
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

How to apply

To apply for any of the available scholarships that you are qualified for, simply submit your application for admission to Illinois State University. It’s that straightforward!

Make sure to submit your scholarship application by December 15 – you will receive the application after you have been admitted to the university.

Additional Information

Applicants who apply for the Jesse W. Fell Scholarship but are not selected will automatically receive an enhanced Redbird Academic Scholarship as an alternative.

It’s important to note that students cannot be awarded both the Fell Scholarship and the Redbird Academic Scholarship at the same time.
