Lady Liberty’s challenge
This poster, created by Charles R. Macaulay for the Advertising Section of the Educational Division of the U.S. Food Administration challenges viewers to purchase Liberty Bonds to support the war effort. Macaulay, a noted editorial cartoonist who created the Big Stick drawings during the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt, went on to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1930.
