The HAAA scholarship is offered to Arab students who wish to pursue their undergraduate degrees at Harvard University. The recipients are exclusively selected by the Harvard Committee on General Scholarship.
The HAAA scholarship aims to promote the goal of increasing the percentage of Arab students studying at Harvard. Of the 4,000 global learners at Harvard, the Arab population only accounts for less than 2%. The objective of the HAAA is to raise $10 million to help Arab students who have been accepted to any Harvard schools but are in economic need.
As part of Harvard University’s endowment, the funding for the scholarship is managed by the Harvard Management Company:
- President’s Circle: USD 500,000 – USD 1,000,000
- Benefactor: USD 100,000 – USD 500,000
- Patron: USD 50,000 – 100,000
- Donor: USD 10,000 – USD 50,000
- Associate: USD 5,000 – USD 10,000
- HAAA Scholarship Fund friends: USD 5,000 – USD 10,000
Scholarship Value and Duration
The scholarship is fully funded, so the student is exempt from paying any tuition fees. The duration varies, as it depends on how long the student’s chosen degree program lasts.
Eligibility
To qualify for the HAAA scholarship, you must comply with the following criteria:
- You must have been accepted to a full-time degree program at any Harvard school.
- You must have obtained a prior degree from an Arab educational institution.
- You must demonstrate an economic need, which will be evaluated based on the general scholarship criteria of the university.
- You must be a resident of any of the eligible countries.

How To Apply
Here are the necessary steps to avail of the HAAA scholarship:
- Submit an application to any school at Harvard University.
- Wait until you have been accepted.
- After you have been accepted, your school’s financial officer will send your application to the Harvard Committee on General Scholarships, which is responsible for deciding who the scholarship is given to. You do not need to apply to the HAAA.
