Scholarship Benefits

Presidential Scholarships are bestowed upon incoming first-time freshmen who demonstrate outstanding academic prowess, as evidenced by exceptional test scores and high class rankings. The annual award is disbursed in two installments: one-half for the fall term and one-half for the spring term. Additionally, if you are a non-resident recipient of a Presidential Scholarship, you will be eligible to pay tuition at the in-state rate.

Eligibility

In order to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year college student, classified as a freshman. Earning college credits through dual-credit courses, CLEP exams, or Advanced Placement (AP) classes does not disqualify you from eligibility.

  • To maintain eligibility for the Presidential Scholarship throughout your academic career at Texas Tech University (TTU), you are required to adhere to the following criteria:
  • Sustain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) as specified in the “Terms and Conditions” section accessible via the MyTech portal.
  • Remain enrolled full-time in a TTU academic program and complete a minimum of 30 TTU credit hours each academic year, which will be reviewed in May.
  • Ensure that all personal addresses, including your email address, are kept up to date on MyTech.
  • Compose and send a thank-you letter to your scholarship benefactor when instructed to do so by the TTU Scholarship Office.
  • Participate in mandatory events organized for scholarship donors.
  • Please note that students enrolled at TTU Costa Rica are not eligible for these scholarships.

How to apply

The chance to be evaluated for scholarships offered by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) becomes available to you at the time you apply for admission into a program of study at TTUHSC.
