Scholarship Benefits

Recipients of the scholarship receive the following benefits:

  • Waiver of registration fees and other charges typically associated with the application process.
  • Coverage of tuition fees for the preparatory year of Romanian language study.
  • Coverage of tuition fees for the duration of their academic studies.
  • Provision of a monthly allowance during the Romanian language preparatory year.
  • Provision of a monthly allowance for students undertaking undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs.
  • Coverage of housing costs in student dormitories.
  • Medical services for surgical emergencies and treatment of endemic or epidemic diseases.
  • Access to local public transportation, including ground, maritime, and underground transit, as well as national automotive, rail, and maritime travel.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for the Romanian Government Scholarship include:

  • Being an international student, with a preference given to applicants from non-EU and non-EFTA countries.
  • Having the necessary qualifications and documentation to apply for an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program.
  • Being prepared to enroll in a Romanian language preparatory course if Romanian is not already known.

How to apply

Applicants must prepare to provide the following documentation for submission:

  • A completed Application Form
  • A Letter of Recommendation
  • Photocopies of earned diplomas (such as high school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate diplomas, as relevant), with translations in Romanian, English, or French where necessary.
  • Official Academic Transcripts, certified by the issuing country’s authoritative bodies, translated into Romanian, English, or French as needed.
  • The applicant’s signed statement attesting that they have not previously received a scholarship from the Romanian Government for the same level of studies for which they are currently applying.
  • A copy of the Birth Certificate
  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae
  • The original Medical Certificate
  • A photocopy of the Identity Card with an official translation
  • A copy of the first two pages of the Passport, ensuring it is valid for at least six months beyond the start date of the study program intended.
  •  Two recent photographs in passport format
