Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for the KIT Global Korea Scholarship include:

  • Possession of non-Korean citizenship.
  • Possession of the requisite degree for enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program.
  • A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, or 3.23 on a 5.0 scale.
  • Age must be under 40 years (applicants must be born on or after September 1, 1984).
  • Good overall health, with the physical and mental fitness necessary to stay and study in Korea for the entire length of the program.

Additional Information

Recipients of the K-GKS are required to fulfill the following obligations:

  • Secure employment within a local company in Gyeongsangbuk-do or enroll in a higher degree program at a university within the same province.
  • Reside within Gyeongsangbuk-do for a period of three years subsequent to their graduation.
  • Additionally, those selected as final candidates for the K-GKS must participate in the “Gyeongbuk Global School” program before the academic semester commences. This preparatory program is scheduled for a duration of two weeks in August 2024. It is designed to acquaint scholars with the policies of Gyeongsangbuk-do and provide them with opportunities to immerse themselves in Korean culture, understand local laws, and other essentials to facilitate their academic pursuits and adaptation to life in Gyeongsangbuk-do.
