Scholarship Benefits

The KAAD Scholarship, offered by the German Catholic Church, is a fully-funded award and is known for its high level of competition.

Eligibility

  • Reside in a developing or emerging nation within Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or Latin America.
  • Currently enrolled in a German university, with a minimum of 10 months of study left.
  • Intend to obtain a Master’s degree (applications accepted during the last stages of a Bachelor’s degree), a Diploma or Magister degree (application permissible after completing the intermediate examination or Vordiplom), or a doctoral degree at a German tertiary education institution.
  • Are a member of the Catholic Church or another Christian denomination, which is particularly relevant for candidates from the Near and Middle East. Non-Catholic applicants may also be considered if they come with recommendations from Catholic partners and demonstrate a commitment to participating in interfaith dialogue.
  • Possess at least basic communication skills in the German language.

Applications for the scholarship must be submitted solely via the Catholic University Chaplaincies, known as KHG or KSG, at your current university.
