Scholarship Benefits

The scholarships offer significant financial support for international students and are structured as follows:

President’s International Scholarship of Excellence:

• This scholarship grants a total of $180,000, disbursed as $45,000 annually over four years of study.

Tentanda via Award:

• Recipients receive a total of $120,000, divided into annual payments of $30,000, spread over four years.

Global Leader of Tomorrow Award:

• This award provides a total of $80,000, with annual installments of $20,000, throughout four years.

All of the above scholarships are renewable each year for three consecutive years after the initial award, which means they support full-time undergraduate study for four years in total. Renewal is contingent upon the recipients maintaining a high academic standing throughout each academic year of their undergraduate degree.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Major International Scholarships at York University, candidates must satisfy the following requirements:

• International Student Status: You must be an international student who needs a Study Permit to study in Canada.
• Undergraduate Program Application: You must have applied for an undergraduate degree program at York University that commences in Fall 2024.
• High School Graduation: You must have applied to York directly from high school no more than two years after graduation. This criterion is not applicable for the Tentanda via Award.
• Academic Excellence: You must possess an outstanding academic record with a minimum ‘A’ average or the equivalent.
• Leadership and Achievement: You must have demonstrated leadership through community service, or have shown excellence in the arts, sports, or other areas of individual achievement.
• Letter of Recommendation: You must upload one letter of recommendation or other relevant supporting documents.
• Document Submission: All required documents must be marked as “Received” in your York application portal (MyFile) by 15 February 2024 at 11:59:59pm Eastern Time.
• Scholarship Application: You must complete and submit the online International Student Scholarship Application by 15 February 2024 at 11:59:59pm Eastern Time.

Meeting all of these criteria is essential for consideration for the Major International Scholarships, which include the President’s International Scholarship of Excellence, Tentanda Via Award, and Global Leader of Tomorrow Award at York University.
