Scholarship Benefits

The NL–Zuyd Excellence Scholarship (NL-ZES) provides more funding in the first year compared to the Zuyd Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship combines a €5000 NL Scholarship (previously called the Holland Scholarship) in the first year with the Zuyd Excellence Scholarship, which offers a maximum €3600 net tuition fee discount for the standard duration of your study.

Eligibility

To qualify for the NL-ZES, you must fulfill the following conditions:

  • You do not hold an EU/EEA nationality, or the nationality of Switzerland or Suriname.
  • You have obtained your Zuyd student number through Studielink.
  • You satisfy the specific requirements of your chosen study program.
  • You must pay the highest institutional tuition fees.
  • You reside in the Netherlands during your study period.
  • You have not left a Zuyd program without completing it.
  • You have not previously enrolled or studied at any educational institution in the Netherlands. (Note: This condition applies only to the NL Scholarship. If you don’t meet this one, you can still apply for the Zuyd Excellence Scholarship.)

How to apply

Your application must include:

  • A filled-out and signed NL-ZES application form (PDF format)
  • A personal statement explaining your motivation to study at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences
  • One letter of recommendation from a lecturer or mentor at your current school
  • Your résumé or curriculum vitae
