Scholarship Benefits

This year, thanks to the generous support of the ClimateWorks Foundation, the program will run from September 3 to October 1, 2024, with a final session on November 1, 2024. The entire course is conducted online.

A bursary of up to £3000 is provided to cover flights, accommodation, food, and transport.

Eligibility

Since we cannot support all applicants, priority will be given to those representing diverse regions and groups most affected by climate change.

The deadline for submissions is August 10th at 11:59 PM UTC. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and all decisions will be communicated by August 23rd.

Please note that the only accepted method of application is through the form provided above. Emailing your CV will not be considered a valid application.

The process for applying for the bursary are:

  • First, you’ll need to apply for the 2024 Global Youth Climate Training Program. You can find the link to the application above and also here.
  • If your initial application is accepted, you’ll then be directed to a separate form where you can express your interest in getting a bursary to attend COP29.
  • The application period will be open during September. By early October, you’ll be informed whether your bursary application was successful.

Additional Information

The Global Youth Climate Training Program (GYCT) is a comprehensive, fully online initiative that provides free capacity-building for individuals between the ages of 16 and 35. The goal is to equip these young people with the essential knowledge and confidence needed to engage effectively in international climate policy discussions.
