Scholarship Benefits

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s students get €350 each month.  
  • Doctoral students get €660 monthly.  
  • Degree students receive funding for 12 months of the academic year.  
  • Exchange students receive funding for up to 10 calendar months annually.

Eligibility

To apply for the Estonia Degree and Exchange Program, please note:

Degree Students:

  • Undergraduate level: Fields related to Estonian language and culture.
  • Master’s and Doctoral levels: All fields of study.

Exchange Students:

  • Must be enrolled in a foreign higher education institution.
  • The scholarship covers the study period in Estonia for up to 10 calendar months per year.

Armenia, Belgium, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Hungary, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, Moldova, Lithuania, People’s Republic of China, Poland, Portugal, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Slovenia, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, Turkey, United States of America.

How to apply

To apply for the 2024 Government of Estonia Scholarship, interested and qualified applicants should follow these steps:

  • Apply for admission to a higher education institution in Estonia.
  • Gather the required documents and submit your application through the Submission Link.
  • Download the application form and attach all relevant documents.

The 2024 application period will be open from August 1, 2024, until September 1, 2024 (23:59, Estonian time). Please send your application form and required documents to [email protected] 

All documents must be attached to the email.

Documents signed on paper should be submitted scanned.

Applications without a confirmation letter of admission to an Estonian higher education institution by the application deadline will not be processed.

Additional Information

The Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, along with the Education and Youth Board, offers scholarships to foreign nationals based on bilateral intergovernmental or inter-ministerial agreements with other countries. Since 2016, these scholarships have been provided through the Estonian Scholarship Programme for international students, researchers, and academic staff.
