Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Be a citizen of, reside in, and be employed in any one of these nations: Bolivia, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Burundi, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Morocco, Nepal, Niger, Mozambique, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Republic of Guinea (Conakry), Senegal, Tanzania, Tunisia, South Africa, Uganda, Vietnam, or Zimbabwe.
  • Possess a degree equivalent to a Master’s level qualification (300 ECTS credits) from Belgian university education for advanced master’s and continuing education programs (corresponding to Bac+5); for advanced bachelor’s programs, a degree comparable to a Bachelor’s level qualification (180 ECTS credits) is required (equivalent to Bac+3). The relevant degree should have been obtained no more than 20 years prior to the start of the program. This period is extended by a year for every childbirth and/or adoption.
  • Have at least two years of pertinent professional experience post-graduate studies for advanced bachelor’s, or post-postgraduate studies for advanced master’s and continuing education programs, in a country where ARES operates.
  • Submit the application in the training’s language, proving good proficiency in both written and spoken forms of the language. Additionally, a basic understanding of French is advisable for easier assimilation into life in Belgium.
