An international non-profit, non-governmental organization called the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) was established in 2018. With the intention of developing young scientists from all over the world, the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents was formally inaugurated in 2019. The ANSO scholarship is a fully funded Chinese financial aid that includes accommodation, education, and health care funding.

Every year, 200 Master’s students and 300 Ph.D. students are given financial assistance through the ANSO Scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), or CAS institutes located throughout China. Those international students who want to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees are eligible for this significant award.

How to Apply for ANSO Scholarship?

The application process for the ANSO scholarship is a two-step procedure

  •  The process for this application begins before the start date with mailing professors from these esteemed affiliated universities to receive acceptance letters. With the receipt of acceptance letters, half the process to study in these established institutions shall be used to apply for the ANSO scholarship. 
  • The second phase will be filling out an online application for the ANSO scholarship

ANSO Scholarship Benefits

      3. A stipend of RMB 3000 through masters and RMB 6000 for Ph.D. awardees or RMB 7000 depending on the result of the qualification test
      4. Application fee waiver
      5. Travel subsidy(one trip per person)

Host institutes

    1. Colleges or schools of the University of Science and Technology of China(USTC)
    2. The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) or institutes of CAS

Course duration

    1. 200 master scholarships for about 36 months
    2. 300 Ph.D. scholarships for about 48 months

ANSO Scholarship Eligibility

The following requirements must be met in order to qualify for the Anso Scholarship.

  1. Non-Chinese citizen
  2. Proof of proficiency in English and Chinese (through TOEFL and Chinese competency exam)
  3. Applicants seeking master’s degrees must be no older than 30 years old (born after January 1, 1994, inclusive);
  4. Candidates to Ph.D. programs must have been born after January 1, 1989. (inclusive)
  5. Fulfill admission criteria of USTC and ucas
  6. They must not take up any external assignments or must not be enrolled in master’s and Ph.D. programs in any Chinese university

Documents required for ANSO Scholarship

    1. Copy of passport valid for at least 24 months
    2. A copy of the CV and research experience brief
    3. Provide a plan of execution for research and record of awards and certificates
    4. University Graduation certificate
      1. Masters program
        1. Must submit a graduation certificate if completed
        2. If the undergraduate course hasn’t been completed they must submit a pre-undergraduate certificate with the date of competition mentioned
      2. Ph.D. program 
        1. Must submit have masters certificate if completed
        2. If not must produce a pre-masters graduation certificate with the date of completion mentioned
    5. Provide a letter of reference
    6. Detailed research proposal
    7. English competency proof which must not be IELTS
    8. Original copy of the ANSO application
