Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for degrees in law, economics, engineering, medicine, physics, chemistry, communication sciences, or business administration. A minimum of three years of university education in these disciplines is mandatory; and
  • Have advanced English proficiency (TOEFL score of at least 80 out of 120, or an IELTS score of at least 6.5 out of 9).

WIPO scholarships are granted to:

  • Government officials and individuals working in the public sector, including entities like universities, academies, and research and development organizations; and
  • Applicants from developing countries or least developed countries (LDCs).
  • Participants are responsible for their own visa expenses, if applicable.
  • The WIPO Academy notifies chosen candidates for WIPO scholarships. Subsequently, recipients will receive pertinent details, including how to handle travel arrangements.
