Scholarship Benefits

For His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for Doctoral Programs:

  • Every scholarship granted encompasses the full cost of tuition, enrollment charges, housing, and a stipend for day-to-day expenses on the AIT residential campus for the whole span of the 41-month period, equivalent to 7 semesters, for doctoral studies.

For His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for Master’s Programs:

  • Each scholarship provides full coverage for tuition fees, lodging, and a living expenses stipend at AIT’s residential campus throughout the entire 22-month duration of the master’s degree program.

Eligibility

For the Ph.D. Programme:

The scholarship is awarded to outstanding candidates who have demonstrated excellence in their undergraduate (Bachelor’s degree) and graduate (Master’s degree) academic performance and who wish to undertake Doctoral studies in any of the Academic Programs offered at the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) or the School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD). This opportunity prioritizes candidates from countries that are supported by the Government of Thailand, which include:

  • Bhutan, Laos PDR, and Timor-Leste
  • Countries within the ASEAN group
  • Other countries across Asia

Necessary Documentation:

  • Applicants must possess an exemplary academic record from a 4-year Bachelor’s program and a 2-year Master’s program in relevant fields from an accredited institution, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in both degrees.
  • Two letters of recommendation;
  • A detailed research proposal;
  • Proof of English proficiency as per the requirements of the AIT Language Center, which include either an IELTS score of at least 6.0 in both the Overall and Writing bands, or an AIT EET score of 6.0 or higher.

For Masters Programme:

This scholarship is awarded to candidates from any Asian country who have demonstrated outstanding undergraduate academic achievements and who are seeking to advance their education through a Master’s degree in an environmentally-focused academic program at the School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD).

Eligibility requirements for applicants include:

  • A remarkable academic record from a 4-year undergraduate program in a relevant field at an accredited institution, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the Bachelor’s degree;
  • An English proficiency score that meets or exceeds the standards set by the AIT Language Center, which includes an IELTS score of at least 6.0 in both the Overall and Writing bands, or an AIT EET score of 6.0 or above.
