Scholarship Benefits

Scholarship awards might encompass a portion or the entire cost of tuition fees. The proportion of the scholarship given is contingent on the programme or faculty’s funding. This does not correlate with the academic achievements of the student. Be aware that scholarships apply solely to tuition expenses and do not include living expenses.

Eligibility

To be eligible:

  • You need to hold citizenship from a nation that is not part of the EU/EEA (nor Switzerland) and be subject to the payment of tuition fees.
  • Additionally, you should have submitted a thorough application during a standard application round for either Bachelor’s or Master’s studies aimed at obtaining a degree from Lund University.

It is important that the Lund University program you seek a scholarship for is listed as your top preference on your universityadmissions.se application.

How to apply

  • First submit an application for your desired programme(s) at Lund University. This is accomplished using the centralized, web-based application platform, http://www.universityadmissions.se/, within the designated application timeframe.
  • Following the submission of a full application for a degree-qualifying programme and payment of the application fee, you become eligible to pursue the scholarship. It is important to recognize that the scholarship’s application gateway is distinct from the national portal used for programme applications. The scholarship application portal’s URL will be made available on the official webpage when the application phase for scholarships commences.
  • Should your application be for a programme in Fine Art, Music, or if you’re applying during the secondary application period from March to April, you will receive an email with details on the scholarship application process and timing.
  • For the scholarship application within the dedicated portal, it is required that you submit your own ‘scholarship motivation letter,’ which should not exceed 600 words. Be aware that this motivation letter is separate from the statement of purpose that might be a component of your application documents for the specific programme. In your scholarship motivation letter, you should articulate the reasons why your academic achievements and the rationale behind your decision to apply to Lund University render you an appropriate candidate for the Lund University Global Scholarship.

You are limited to applying for a single Lund University Global Scholarship corresponding to the programmes you’ve chosen at Lund University during a specific admission cycle. Nonetheless, you are permitted to apply for additional scholarships, such as those offered by the Swedish Institute, concurrently.

Additional Information

The scholarship selection procedure is conducted concurrently with the process for selecting programmes/courses.

Should you submit an application for the Lund University Global Scholarship, expect to hear from Lund University regarding the outcome of the scholarship selection soon after your admission results are announced. In the event that you are chosen to receive a scholarship, the communication will detail the amount awarded and also provide additional instructions.
