Scholarship Benefits

The university is providing £5,000 scholarships to international students at any level of study who demonstrate exceptional athletic talent, to be applied towards full-time tuition fees.


To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be of academy, national, or international level in any sport, or demonstrate significant potential for future excellence.
  • Be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for tuition fee purposes.
  • Have an offer to begin a full-time academic program in any discipline at the University of Nottingham UK in September 2024.

Applications for this scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year is expected to be open soon.

Although you do not need to have received an offer of study before applying, we advise you to apply for an academic course as soon as possible. Explore available courses and learn about the application process.

You may be shortlisted for a scholarship after your initial application; however, you must receive and firmly accept an offer before you can be awarded a scholarship.

You might be considered for an International Sporting Excellence Award or another sports scholarship package.

Additional Information

Priority is given to sports included in the BUCS programme, as well as Olympic, Paralympic, and Commonwealth sports. Other sports may be considered individually.

This scholarship cannot be combined with another University of Nottingham regional or sports scholarship. However, you may also receive a subject-specific scholarship from your academic school or external scholarships, provided the combined total does not exceed 100% of your tuition fees.
