Scholarship Benefits

  • The Colombian higher education institution will fully cover the tuition fees.
  • Assistance for medical and hospital needs.

  • ICETEX will provide monthly support to each international scholarship recipient (living expenses).
  • Additionally, each scholarship recipient will receive funds for initial expenses in Colombia.

Eligibility

  • Possess citizenship from a non-Colombian country.
  • Lack Colombian nationality.
  • Have not taken up residence or lived within Colombia’s borders for the six months preceding the scholarship application nor commenced educational pursuits in Colombia at the application time for the relevant call.
  • Should selection occur, ICETEX may request the Certificate of Migratory Movements from scholars, which must be dated no more than 30 days before their entry into Colombian territory.
  • Maintain no marital or common-law partnerships within Colombia.
  • Not previously have received benefits from ICETEX under the Beca Colombia initiative.
  • Must be under the age of 51 years.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative average of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale from undergraduate studies when applying. This average must align with a 4.0 or higher on the Colombian grading scale. *Postgraduate grades are excluded.
  • Hold an academic degree at the professional, undergraduate, or postgraduate level within any field of study.
  • Secure admission to one to three postgraduate courses listed in the Academic Offer Catalog for the second half of 2024, as detailed in this call. If applying for Spanish courses, the admission from the institution providing the course will not be considered.
  • Exhibit satisfactory physical and mental health, as confirmed by a medical professional.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all submitted documents are authentic, current, and truthful. Nonetheless, ICETEX retains the authority to scrutinize the authenticity of any documents and the accuracy of information provided in the application.

In the event that submitted documents are discovered to be intentionally falsified or altered, the applicant’s submission will be disqualified immediately. This action may also lead to further legal consequences, involving the Attorney General’s Office as dictated by applicable laws.

The Scholarship Committee will evaluate the information provided by the candidates, ensuring they meet all stipulated application criteria, before awarding scholarships. This is contingent on the funds available at the time.
