The Griffith University International Water Center Scholarship is open to international candidates seeking a Master’s in Integrated Water Management (MIWM) in Australia. The scholarships given to candidates are up to two as long as they meet the minimum requirements to be eligible for a master’s degree, hold citizenship, and currently live in any of the priority countries. Meanwhile, one of these scholarships is reserved and awarded to a female candidate.

Scholarship Value and Duration

The following benefits are awarded to the recipients of the International Water Center Scholarships:

A – Each scholarship amounts to 92,645 AUD awarded annually. This covers tuition, living costs, student visas, university student amenities fees, return air travel to Australia, and overseas health cover.

B – This scholarship amounts to 56,739 AUD awarded annually. This covers full tuition fees and airfare to Australia. 

The program lasts for up to two years. 

Eligibility

To be awarded an International Water Center Scholarship, you need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Must be proficient in the English language.
    • A 6.5 minimum overall band score on IELTS with no sub-score below 6.0
    • OR a minimum 575 score on TOEFL
    • OR a 79 score on iBT TOEFL with no sub-score below 19
    • OR no score below 3+ in each ISLPR skill
    • OR a 176 minimum overall score on C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency
    • OR a 58 overall score in the Pearson Test of English with no score below 50 
  • Eligible Countries:
    • A – The candidate must be from any priority countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. One of the scholarships will be reserved and awarded to a female candidate.
    • B – The candidate must be from selected countries in Europe, Asia, or North America. 
  • Must be a citizen of any country other than New Zealand or Australia. Permanent Australian residents are not eligible. 
  • You must not be enrolled or accepted at Swinburne unless you are already part of the ELICOS program. 
  • Must not be the recipient of any other scholarship or fee arrangement. If you have successfully applied to study at Swinburne, the university will email you.
  • Must not have received exemptions or credit transfers.

To be eligible for the Master of Integrated Water Management degree program, candidates must hold the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a field that is related to water management
  • OR a Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management, as well as practical experience in a related field of at least two years
  • OR a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Management, as well as practical experience in a related field of at least one year
