Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU) Scholarships

AGU offers various scholarships for international students, including those offered by AGU itself as well as external organizations. The Academic Fees and Scholarships Division at the Aoyama campus and the Student Affairs and Welfare Division at the Sagamihara campus administer most of the scholarships at AGU. The International Center also helps identify students for some scholarships. The application processes and eligibility criteria for the scholarships vary depending on the specific scholarship and year.

On average, about 50% of undergraduate international students and 70% of graduate international students at AGU receive some form of scholarship funding each year. This includes scholarships such as the AGU Industry-University Collaborative Global Scholarship.

Notes for International Students

International students whose tuition is funded by their national government, a foreign government, or scholarship organizations are not eligible to apply for AGU’s internal scholarships. The eligibility criteria for the scholarships vary depending on the applicant’s college, graduate school, and year level.

As a rule, AGU accepts scholarship applications from self-financed international students only after they have enrolled at the university. However, receiving a scholarship immediately after enrolling is difficult. As such, students are required to secure the necessary funding to study abroad on their own.
