Old Faithful erupts

1942

Famed photographer Ansel Adams took this photograph of the “Old Faithful” geyser erupting in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming in the early 1940s. Adams was hired by the Department of the Interior to take photographs of the American West for a series of never-completed photo murals in the Interior Department’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.
