Join the Navy!

1941 - 1945

In this World War II Navy recruiting poster by McClelland Barclay, a shirtless, muscular sailor is loading a large shell into a gun. Building a World War II fighting force required aggressive recruiting efforts in addition to an expanded draft law covering men ages 20 to 44. Pictures of powerful men and mighty machines illustrated America’s ability to channel its formidable strength into the war effort.
