A Shoshone-Bannock man

ca. 1940

Photographed around 1940, in full regalia, George P. LeVatta, was a member of the Shoshone-Bannock tribe from the Fort Hall Reservation in Idaho. He worked as a Bureau of Indian Affairs agent from 1934 to 1951 and with the National Congress of American Indians from 1944 until his death in the early 1990s.
