Perhaps it should have been an elephant?

8/22/1891

Teenager Lou Henry, later the wife of President Herbert Hoover, is shown sitting on a burro in this 1891 photograph taken in Acton, California. Lou met Herbert when they were both students at Stanford University, where she became the first woman in the United States to receive a college degree in geology. They married in 1899.
