Senator’s father


Hyatoro Inouye immigrated to the Hawaiian Territory from Japan as a child aboard the S.S. City of Peking on July 24, 1899. Hyatoro and his Hawaiian wife Kame raised their son Daniel and three other children in Honolulu. Daniel, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient, served as a United States Senator from Hawaii.
