Enemy ears are listening

1941-1945

In this World War II poster, America’s enemies—Mussolini, Hirohito, and Hitler—cup their ears to listen intently. During the war, the Government alerted citizens to the presence of enemy spies. Posters warned people that small snippets of information might be useful to the enemy and compromise national security and soldiers’ safety.
